An 11-year-old girl is now hospitalized in a serious condition following an accident on Monday.
According to Police in Regional Division #4A, the accident occurred on Monday 21st February 2022 about 16:10hrs on Thomas Lands in the vicinity of Queen’s College, involving motorcar # PVV 3314 driven by 27-year-old Trisann Fraser and 11-year-old Sameera Abrahim-Williams.
According to the report, the motorcar driven by Fraser of Sribhasant Street, Prashad Nagar was proceeding east along the northern side of Thomas Lands the child pedestrian was standing on the southern side of the said road facing north behind a motorcar. It is said as motor car # PVV 3314 was in the process of passing the said stationary motorcar, the pedestrian ran from south to north into the path of motor car # PVV 3314. As a result, the right side front portion of the motorcar collided with the child pedestrian causing her to fall onto to the road surface where she received injuries about her body.
Abrahim-Williams of East Street, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown was picked up in a conscious condition and transported by ambulance to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was seen and examined by the doctor on duty and admitted, suffering from head injuries. Her condition is regarded as serious.
A notice of intended prosecution was served on the driver as investigations are in progress.
