Thanks to the country’s robust local content legislation, more than 1,000 locally registered companies in Guyana’s oil and gas sector have collectively secured contracts worth over US$1.5 million.
That’s according to President Irfaan Ali, who announced during the Local Content Summit, emphasizing that Guyana’s policies are working to ensure broad-based national participation in the booming petroleum industry.
“These figures speak to the success of our local content framework — and more importantly, the opportunities it continues to create for Guyanese businesses and professionals,” the President said.
He added that Guyana is being recognized regionally and globally for its efforts to structure oil wealth in a way that directly benefits its citizens, noting that local capacity is being built in support services and across technical, engineering, and logistics sectors.
President Ali reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships between local firms and international operators, ensuring the country’s oil boom results in sustainable, long-term economic transformation.
