The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) and Coursera, has taken an important step to address the migration of health personnel to more developed countries. On Monday, they launched the Professional Nursing Programme- Hybrid Approach, aimed at training 1160 individuals. This program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with essential skills and knowledge, enabling them to contribute effectively to their country’s healthcare system. The initiative aims to mitigate the brain drain and retain valuable healthcare personnel within Guyana by providing this training opportunity. Renata Burnette reports.
