A 25-year-old man is now in police custody for allegedly raping a 16-year-old female in Region 7, police said in a news release on Thursday.
Police said the crime was committed last April at a local store where the suspect demanded sex from the victim who refused.
Police said the suspect persisted and committed the act before making good his escape.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m.
