3 FISHERMEN FEARED DEAD, MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS SAYS NO EFFORTS WILL BE SPARED IN FINDING TRIO

Three fishermen- Captain 44-year-old Harold Damon, 78-year-old Ronald Burton, and 47-year-old Winston are feared dead after their trawler reportedly capsized in the Atlantic Ocean off of the Mahaica Coast on Saturday morning. The fourth fisherman- Vincent Dazzell, managed to escape the sinking vessel. It is believed that the boat capsized.
The men went out to the ocean last Sunday and were expected back on Saturday. They were working aboard a sea bob trawler owned by Nobel House Seafoods. It is said that the men radioed for help before tragedy struck.
Up to the time of this report, the missing men have not yet been found and their families are fearing the worst.
In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Works confirmed that no efforts will be spared into the search and rescue exercise for the missing fishermen.

The Ministry of Public Works announces an immediate and thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the reported capsizing of a boat owned by Noble House Seafood, in Coastal waters some 18 miles off Mahaicony, following which several fishermen are now missing.
An independent panel was established comprising representatives of the Ministry of Public Works, MARAD, GDF Coast Guard, the GPF Marine Unit, and the Transport and Harbors Department.
We are very concerned, and share the anxiety and pain of the family members and colleagues of the missing men.
The Search and Rescue Operation Center was immediately activated, upon notification of this incident. Vessels and personnel, including divers, have been deployed.
The Ministry wishes to assure all concerned that all available resources of the state, to aid in this search and rescue exercise will be fully utilized. The private sector including private fishing vessels are also engaged in this ongoing operation.
