Devon Cummings called “Palmer” died around 16:50hrs on Wednesday, at a Goed Intent Restaurant at Back Street, Goed Intent, West Bank Demerara, after sustaining several chops and stabs about his body.
According to Police Headquarters, 32 year old Cummings and one of his friends were passing from the backdam when they saw other friends including the two suspects consuming alcohol at a restaurant.
Cummings and his friend were invited to take a shot of Blackstone rum which they agreed. The suspect who had a cutlass in his hand began “tantalizing” the now deceased, who eventually said he was going home and walked out the shop. It was reported that then an argument ensued between him and another male.
Reports indicate that the victim hit the other man which led to one of the suspects taking away his cutlass, pushing him against a wall while the other suspect pulled out a knife and dealt the victim a chopped to his head and a stab to his chest.
Both suspects then made good their escape on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim was picked up and rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while being treated. The body is presently at Ezekiel’s Funeral Home awaiting post mortem examination.
The matter was reported and based on information received, a male of Goed Intent W.B.D was arrested and is assisting with investigations.
