3,500 marijuana plants, 4 lbs compressed ‘ganja’ found by cops in Kara Kara Creek

An eradication exercise by ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on the right bank of Kara Kara Creek unearthed farms of marijuana plants totaling 3,500, one (1) empty 12-gauge cartridge and four (4) lbs of ‘ganja’ on Tuesday.

According to a statement from the cops, at the first (1st) location, a make-shift camp with sleeping and food supplies was discovered but no one was present in that area.

“The police eradicated by burning a farm with suspected marijuana plants measuring from six (6) inches to three (3) feet planted on about fifteen (15) beds. The area measures approximately 100feet in length and 75feet in width. Also destroyed was a quantity of seeds, leaves and stems suspected to be cannabis in a kitchen area of the camp.”

The empty 12-gauge cartridge was found on one (1) of the make-shift beds and taken into possession.

“A short distance away two other farms were discovered  measuring about three (3) acres with suspected marijuana plants ranging from five (5) inches to one (1) foot. These were also destroyed by means of fire.”

Investigations continue.
