As the country continues to suffer from the negative effects of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), authorities are ramping up efforts in ensuring that citizens remain safe, while those that violate the COVID-19 measures in place and put the health of themselves and others at risk, are held accountable.
As such, 42 persons were arrested between 16:00h and 20:15h on Sunday (yesterday) during a COVID-19 Enforcement exercise by ranks stationed in Berbice.
According to a brief statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), during the exercise, those individuals were arrested for breaching the COVID-19 measures after ranks targeted public transportation, public spaces and other social activities.
