Motor- vehicle Drivers are now enabled to re-new their licenses every 5 years, as the bill was passed in the National Assembly on Thursday……Yaniss Abrams reports….

Drivers will now be granted a period of 5 years to renew their licenses. This new provision is part of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Amendment Bill which was passed in the National Assembly on Thursday. 

The Minister said that the extension period will help drivers in the long run. With no Opposition Member of Parliament present in the National Assembly, the bill was easily passed. Previously, drivers renewed their licenses every three years.
