Women robbed of cash, jewellery by motorcycle bandits at Meadow Bank Wharf
Two females have been left traumatized after they were robbed of a large quantity of cash, jewellery and other valuables by a gun-toting bandit and his accomplice at the Meadow Bank Wharf, Georgetown.
The women have been identified as 43-year-old Renita Joseph of the Onderneeming village, West Bank Demerara (WBD) and 19-year-old Ariel Mangar of Prospect, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
HGP Nightly News understands that the Robbery Under Arms took place around 17:00h on Tuesday at the “Wild Caught Fresh” Fish Depot.
Reports are that the armed bandit who had been wielding a silver handgun when he approached the women managed to rob them of their cash, jewellery and cellular phones before jumping onto a black and red Honda XR motorbike which was being operated by his accomplice.
The perpetrators made good their escape and up to press time no arrest was made.
Investigations continue.
