A 74-year-old male resident of 111 Miles, Mahdia, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) has found himself in hot water after police ranks conduted a ‘Cordon and Search’ exercise at his home and unearthed 356 grammes of Cannabis Sativa on Wednesday (yesterday).
According to a statement from the police, a search of the said house (in the suspect’s presence) resulted in the discovery of a black plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to cannabis along with $16,300 in cash.
“He admitted ownership which led to his arrest. At the Mahdia Police Station the suspected cannabis was weighed in his presence and same amounted to 356 grams. The suspect is presently in custody assisting with investigation, pending charges.”
