As Guyana continues to record several fatal accidents involving pedestrians, the Guyana Police Force through its #5 Division is investigating a hit and run incident that took place last Sunday.
According to reports, an unknown motor vehicle collided with Withfield James who was walking along the Bel Air Public Road, West Coast Berbice. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian fell onto the road surface where he received injuries about his body.
The 55-year-old pedestrian was picked up in an unconscious condition by police and taken to Fort Wellington Public Hospital, where he was examined and pronounced dead on arrival.
A Post Mortem which was conducted on Wednesday by Government’s Pathologist revealed that the man died of multiple injuries.
The body was handed over to the relatives for burial
