Three persons are in the custody of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) following a drug bust on Friday at a Santiniketan Street, Prasad Nagar, Georgetown home.
Those arrested are Lena Narine, 63, called ‘Aunty Lena,’ Sherman Edmonson, 54, and Earl Branch, 49.
Reports are that on the day in question, CANU’s officers went to the location and conducted a search in the presence of the trio.
During the search, a brick-like parcel suspected to be cocaine was found, and the three persons were arrested and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters.
The brick-like parcel tested positive for cocaine, totalling 1.050 kilograms, with a street value of approximately $1.1 million.
In March 2022, Narine and two other persons were charged after 11.4 kilograms of cocaine and 266 grams of ecstasy were found at the same address. Investigations are ongoing.
