Two (2) men armed with knives stormed into the home of a 52-year-old female shopkeeper in the wee hours on Wednesday (today) and robbed the woman of two (2) Blacl 50 inches TCL television sets valued at $500,000 a pair of gold earrings and one (1) gold ring valued at $37,000 in total along with $5,000 in cash.
The robbery took place around 01:30h at Third (3rd) Street, Craig, EBD.
According to a police statement, the woman had been asleep when she was awakened with a knife to her body by the bandits, who immediately demanded that she hand over money to them.
“They then ransacked the place, relieving her of the above-mentioned articles, before making good their escape through the window, then in an unknown direction. Entry was gained by prying open a window on the eastern side and cutting an internal steel grill and exit was made by the same means of entry. Investigations are ongoing.”
