A male resident of Murphy Dam, West Bank, Berbice sustained serious injuries after he was stabbed Monday night while being highly intoxicated.
Police said the victim is 25–year-old Mahindra Singh.
The suspect, who the police did not identity, is currently being sought by the police.
According to police in a statement, the wife told investigators that at about 9: 30 p.m. she was arguing with her sister about taking Singh home to sleep because he was highly intoxicated and was reportedly being a nuisance.
The wife further alleged that while taking her husband away, a male approached Singh and stabbed him to his right side of his chest with an apparent broken glass bottle.
Singh was taken to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital then later transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he’s admitted in serious condition.
