Bicycle bandits threaten woman with cutlass, rob her of $280,000 in cash, other valuables

A female sales clerk was robbed of her Apple iPhone ‘7’ Plus cellular phone, handbag containing documents and $280,000 in cash by bicycle bandits, one (1) of whom allegedly threatened her with a cutlass, last night.

The incident reportedly took place around 19:30h at First (1st) Bridge, Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

According to a police report, on the said date and time, the female had been walking home from work in the vicinity of the said bridge, when the three (3) suspects pounced on her.

“…during which one of them pointed a cutlass at her and told her not to make any noise and subsequently grabbed her handbag containing the above mentioned articles. The suspects then made good their escape. Investigation in progress.”
