-teen in custody after reportedly telling cops she knew sister was murdered and ‘buried’
The body of the 21-year-old female bartender, Shonnette Odessa Dover, who was reported missing earlier this month (April) was found today (Friday) in a shallow grave in the yard of her boyfriend.
The now dead woman’s lover is yet to be arrested, however, Dover’s 15-year-old sister is currently in custody.
HGP Nightly News understands that the teenager reportedly knew that her sister had been murdered then buried in the Wismar, Linden residence belonging to the boyfriend of the now deceased.
According to a police statement, detectives contacted the 15-year-old sister of the missing woman and at about 23:35h on Thursday (yesterday), they interviewed the child.
In the presence of a Child Care and Probation Officer at the Wismar Police Station Criminal Investigation Department, the teen was subjected to a video interview, during which she was told of an allegation, cautioned in accordance with the Judges Rules and provided a statement.
It is alleged that the teenager was present the night when her sister was murdered.
“Information provided alleges that on the night the victim went ‘missing’, her boyfriend (name provided) was oiling ‘his brownish gun in their living room’. He then pointed the gun at the victim who told him ‘he like play and he should put away that thing.’ The sister says she then heard a sound like a squib and he (suspect) said ‘oh shoots, I shoot that girl’.”
According to the 15-year-old, she saw her sister’s moth open and blood on her (now deceased’s) face.
She stated that she immediately told the woman’s boyfriend that they should take her older sibling to the hospital to obtain medical attention but the man reportedly said “no she dead already”.
The cops noted that the girl accompanied the suspect to visit his father and told the man what had happened, to which the father reportedly replied ‘don’t tell (me) stupidness, why (you) playing with the gun?”
“They subsequently left and collected a spade from a man and dug a hole aback the house where the victim was buried. The suspect then hid the gun. In the wee hours of this morning, on her directions, ranks went into action and dug up the area about four feet down during which they stumbled upon the body of a female, partly decomposed.”
HGP Nightly News understands that due to the decomposed state of the woman’s body, it was difficult to see any marks of violence on the most exposed parts of the body.
“It was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex and pronounced dead on arrival at 03:50hrs and is now at the Pensioners Mortuary where it is being stored awaiting PME. The 15-yr-old was placed into custody pending investigations. The father of the suspect was arrested and placed in custody pending investigations.”
