The body of an unidentified man was fished out of a canal that separated Croal Street and South Road, Georgetown, after relevant authorities were notified about the incident on Wednesday (yesterday) afternoon.
According to a police statement, the corpse was found floating in the above-mentioned canal, around 13:00h when cops who were acting on information, arrived at that location.
“The body was fished out and examined for marks of violence but none was seen. The corpse was then escorted to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and is currently in the mortuary awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME). Investigation is ongoing,” the Guyana Police Force (GPF) noted.
