A 24-year-old miner was on Friday arrested with a quantity of fronto and marijuana and one pack of bamboo paper at Westbury, Essequibo Coast.
Reports are that ranks from Region Two, along with members of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), were on mobile patrol when they intercepted the 24-year-old man, who later identified himself to be Omar George of Hoppy Street, Dartmouth Village, Essequibo Coast.
The law enforcement officers conducted a search on George and unearthed 37 small ziplock plastic bags with a number of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis, a quantity of fronto and one pack of bamboo paper, and $750 in a pouch he was carrying.
He was reportedly told of the offence committed and cautioned, and replied, “boss is a lil hustle.”
He was arrested and escorted to the Anna Regina Police Station, where the suspected cannabis was weighed in his presence and amounted to 44.2 grams. The miner is in custody pending charges.
