Brazilian allegedly robbed of $3.2M in raw gold, cash, documents while asleep in hotel room

A 62-year-old Brazilian national who was staying at a hotel in Second Street, Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) was robbed of raw gold valued at $3.2 million dollars, his cash, passport and other documents while he was sound asleep in the wee hours of Monday (yesterday).

HGP Nightly News understands that the alleged crime took place between 00:00 and 02:00h at the Sheriff Inn Hotel.

According to a police report, Paulino DeJesus stated that he checked into the above-mentioned hotel and retired to bed around midnight. When he awoke, he discovered the items along with $30,000 in cash missing.

The cops noted that there was no sign of forced entry to his room.

Investigations continue.
