A 54-year-old man who operates a business at his Calendar Street, Albouystown, residence as on Thursday night robbed of his gold chain, two (2) cellular phones and $24,000 in cash by two (2) men, one of whom had been armed with a gun.
The man’s 40 pennyweight gold chain is valued at $400,000 while his cellular phones are said to be worth $ 72,000 in total.
Reports are that around 20:20h on Thursday, the 54-year-old businessman was sitting in front of his shop when one (1) of the perpetrators entered and on his way out, he (suspect) approached the man and snatched the gold chain off his neck.
According to a police statement, the businessman attempted to open a pepper spray when the armed suspect whipped out a gun and pointed the weapon in the man’s direction while his accomplice robbed the man of his two (2) cellular phones.
The bandits then made good their escape on foot along Calendar Street, Albouystown.
Investigations continue.
