Devon Assaye, 30, of Betervergawgting, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was on Saturday attacked and chopped by a 46-year-old man who is now in custody over an old grievance.
According to the Police, the incident occurred at about 16:30h at Bartica Arcade, Essequibo River.
On Saturday, the suspect attacked the victim with a cutlass, chopping him to his left hand, and made good his escape.
The victim was taken to Bartica Public Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient in stable condition.
The matter was reported to the Police, who subsequently found and arrested the suspect. He remains in custody pending further investigations.
