Even as the controversy involving the sale of 143 acres of ancestral lands situated aback of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, between the Neighbourhood Democratic Council and John Fernandes Limited heightens, residents of the community picketed the company demanding that its owners back out of the deal now that there is evidence that the lands are privately owned.
