While the Ministry of Education is forging ahead with plans to reopen schools to face-to-face learning after the Easter holiday, health authorities have not yet been successful at procuring COVID-19 vaccines for the 5-11 age cohort. Nonetheless, whether or not the vaccines arrive in Guyana before that time, Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony maintains that schools can be reopened. He’s, however, urging parents of children with underlying conditions to get clearance from their doctors before sending their children back into the classrooms. Temika Rodney reports.
