Police are on the hunt for a 50-year-old City Constable who shot a Lance Corporal and her friend at the Bourda City Constabulary Outpost on Tuesday night.
Those injured have been identified as Jammanie Saul, a 48-year-old Lance Corporal and Miguel Wilson, a 50-year-old overseas-based Guyanese of Section ‘C’ Enterprise, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported that at about 19:15h, Wilson visited Saul at her workplace, and the two sat next to each other, chatting, which annoyed the suspect.
As a result, the suspect, who was armed with a service weapon (a .38 revolver with six live rounds), discharged three rounds at Wilson and Saul.
The duo fell to the ground, and the suspect fled the scene after committing the act.
The victims were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by public-spirited citizens and admitted as patients. Their condition is listed as stable.
Police said Saul received one gunshot wound to her left hand, while Wilson was shot once to the left thigh.
“CCTV cameras were seen in the area, and investigators will review the footage. Checks were made for the suspect at his West Ruimveldt address, but he is yet to be located,” Police noted.
