A 45-year-old construction worker is now in storage at the Jerrick’s Funeral Parlour after dying from a freak accident at his worksite on Friday night.
According to the police, Odel Richard went to work at H. Nauth and Son Construction site at Unity Mahaica East Coast Demerara and was seen pulling a wire by his cousin when it burst and lashed him to his head. Richard fell to the ground unconscious after the hit.
He was taken to the hospital by his cousin, a fellow construction worker, and two other workers, where he was seen and later pronounced dead.
According to the doctor, the man died as a result of blunt trauma to the head and high blood pressure.
No other mark of violence was seen on the body and was later transferred to the funeral home.
