Law enforcement officers have been challenged to lead by example in domestic violence matters and ensure that perpetrators of these heinous acts are brought to justice swiftly.
This call came from Woman Inspector Jillian Moore in a lecture on Wednesday July 28, 2021.
Ranks from the Guyana Police Force are currently undergoing a core course training on domestic violence.
According to a press release, the lecture, which was held at the Guyana Police Force’s Officers Training Centre auditorium, was “very interactive with ranks from various divisions within the Force in attendance”.
Some of the topics discussed during the lecture included, types of domestic violence, cause and effects of domestic violence, cost of domestic violence and police response to domestic violence.
Inspector Moore, who has a passion for the welfare of ranks, urged them to remain professional whether in or out of uniform and to always use wisdom in their actions, the release stated.
“Additionally, she told the ranks that as law enforcement officers, we should lead by example and ensure that perpetrators of these heinous acts are brought to justice swiftly,” Moore said.
