COURT TO RULE ON CHALLENGE OF POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION MEMBERS’ SUSPENSION

On March 24th, Justice Gino Persaud will deliver a ruling on the legal challenge brought by the former Police Service Commission (PSC) against the suspension of its Commissioners. The challenge was lodged in June 2021, shortly after President Irfaan Ali announced the suspension of the police commissioners. The ruling could have far-reaching implications for both the PSC and Government and could determine the future direction of the police service. Tiana Cole reports.
