Police have acquired confession statements from two teenage girls following the murder of 64 year old Roger Manikam whose body was found on Sunday at Coldingen on the East Coast of Demerara. The teenage girls told investigators during questioning that they helped to murder their father whom the described as a nuisance and an everyday drunkard.
One of the teen’s boyfriend is also implicated in the murder. During the interrogation of the teens police were told that they had lured their father Saturday night into the kitchen when they chopped him to his head with an axe. They then dumped his body at Coldingen to make it look as if the 64 year old man had been the victim a robbery.
