The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Leslie James has taken note of the number of drivers who flee from accident scenes without rendering any assistance to victims. While expressing disgust at this inhumane act, Mr. James urged drivers to take responsibility for their actions, rather than leave a human being to die on the road. The Top Cop was at the time delivering remarks at the Brickdam Police Station; the headquarters of the police’s ‘A’ Division on Friday during a luncheon.Â
Mr. James affirmed that the force will not have tolerance or be lenient towards persons who leave accidents scenes, whether it be fatal, minor or major injuries.
The Commissioner also affirmed that traffic ranks, including police, will be deployed nationwide to ensure that errant motorists face the law for their reckless behaviors.
