DETECTIVE SARABOO IS POLICE FORCE 2018 BEST COP

The Guyana Police Force’s 2018 best cop is Detective Rodwell Saraboo. This year’s best cop called on young persons to take education serious and stay away from a life of crime. Here are the details from Javone Vickerie.

The Guyana Police Force this year, with the help of the private sector, awarded more than 18 million dollars in cash and prizes, to deserving officers from all seven policing divisions across the country. The awardees were recognized for their sterling contribution to solving several major crimes, the seizure of guns, and the eradication of drugs;selfless acts and successes in the field of sports this year.In the end, this year Best Cop was announced as Detective Sergeant Rodwell Saraboo. Saraboo in 2018 solved six major crimes including murder. He was also one of the key detectives who dismantled a gang of car thieves involved in a massive carjacking ring. Saraboo in his remarks encouraged youths to take education seriously and stay clear of a life of crime. He outlined that while nothing in life is acquired easily, a life of crime has no benefits.

The detective humbly submitted that his success this year was not just him alone, but by the support of his colleagues, the direction from the Police Legal Advisor, and most importantly ranks who work undercover in the fields.

Saraboo posited that despite his recognition on Wednesday, his 13 years in the force came at a sacrifice to those who he cares about the most.
