Drunk Driver crashes into Car Driven by 14-year-old

Kyree Anderson, a 14-year-old of #1 Public Road Corentyne Berbice is set to undergo surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Thursday following an accident he was involved in the day prior.

According to reports, Anderson was driving without a license (since he is not yet 16 years old and that is the legal limit to obtain one), when 25-year-old Surendranauth Gopaul of Auchlyne Estate, Corentyne crashed into the rear side of motorcar PNN 9096 that was being driven by the teen. This caused the the 14-year-old driver of motorcar PNN 9096 to lose control and collide with a lamp pole which is situated on the southern grass parapet.
The accident occurred at about 23:10 hrs on the Fyrish Public Road.
As a result of the collision, the driver of motorcar PNN 9096 was taken out of the vehicle in an unconscious condition by public-spirited citizens and taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was treated and due to the serious nature of his condition, he was referred to Georgetown Public Hospital for further medical attention.
Breathalyzer tests were conducted on Surendranauth Gopaul and the readings given were 133 and 126 micrograms of alcohol (way above the legal limit).

Both vehicles were lodged to be examined by a Licensing and Certifying Officer.

Investigations are ongoing.
