After an entire year of preparation and hard work in the midst of an unprecedented, restrictive and deadly pandemic, thousands of grade six students presented themselves to their schools to write the annual National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) on Wednesday morning. It was the first time back in the classroom in over a year for many of them, and as could be expected, emotions ran high.
