EPA backpedals on EIA for Canje Block, following public outcry

As it relates to pronouncements made by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as the Government of Guyana, that Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) would not be needed for several projects being rolled out across various sectors in the country, the body has now back-peddled to say that it will hold public hearings to analyze the Environmental Impacts, for at least one of those projects.
