To ease commuters’ financial burden, the government has officially removed toll payments for the Demerara Harbour Bridge, the Berbice Bridge, and the Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge in Linden.
The announcement is welcomed by thousands of daily commuters, commercial drivers, and residents who rely on these critical transportation links for work, school, and business.
According to government officials, removing tolls forms part of a broader push to improve accessibility, reduce transportation costs, and promote regional connectivity across the country.
This measure is expected to have a positive economic impact, particularly on residents of Regions Three, Four, Six, and Ten. It comes at a time when the government is also investing heavily in road and bridge infrastructure development.
