A 75-year-old security guard attached to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) office, Port Kaituma, North West District (NWD), Region One (Barima-Waini) was attacked and killed late last night by an unidentified male.
Dead is Earl Peters of Ballfield, Port Kaituma, NWD. The man was brutally murdered at Train Line, Port Kaituma, NWD, yesterday (Saturday).
Reports are that around 22:25h, a businessman who resides at Train Line, Port Kaituma, NWD, told the cops that he was at home when he heard someone shouting for help.
He immediately went outside to investigate and observed a male, whom he recognized to be Earl Peters, lying on the ground soaked with what appeared to be blood.
The businessman allegedly then ran to the Port Kaituma Police Station and made a report.
Around 22:35h, the cops arrived at the crime scene and found Peters lying on his back on the ground in an unconscious state. He was said to besoaked with what appeared to be blood from injuries to his abdomen, his left side head and left wrist.
Peters was picked up and rushed to the Port Kaituma Public Hospital where he briefly regained consciousness and related to the Police that an “unknown male” attacked him and inflicted the injuries in the process and then walked away.
When he arrived at the Hospital, Peters began receiving treatment for his wounds but succumbed around 23:23h there. Investigations into his death are ongoing.
