Wales Gas-to-Energy Project Delays:
The US$2 billion Gas-to-Energy Project in Wales, Guyana, featuring a 300 MW power plant and a Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) facility, continues to face significant challenges, with further delays now expected.
On Wednesday, Winston Brassington, the Gas-to-Energy Point Person, informed oil industry experts that despite efforts to keep the project on track, several logistical, technical, and financial hurdles have pushed back the timeline.
Initially expected to be a game-changer in reducing electricity costs and improving energy stability, the project has encountered delays in procurement, construction setbacks, and regulatory approvals.
The latest delay raises concerns over Guyana’s energy future as the nation awaits the benefits of this highly anticipated venture.
