The Guyana Teacher’s Union has planned to take a break from their protests countrywide to hopefully engage with the Education Ministry.
Below is their statement to members:
Colleges, it has been three weeks since GTU commenced protest action against Mandatory Vaccination and Outstanding Financial Matters. We believe our message has resounded through Guyana and the world.
We will take a break from Monday, September 20,2021. This break would be to evaluate our approach on these matters and strategise for a more impactful advance of the cause.
We hope during this break period that MoE will use the opportunity to engage GTU in a meaningful way to address our concerns.
We wish to thank all regional groups for standing with us. “Boots on the ground” has now become a household chant.
We look forward to your support in the future.
Long Live The Teachers of Guyana!
Long Live the GTU!
