A .32 pistol which contained one (1) live 32 ammunition was recovered by the cops on Saturday after they gave chase behind a motorcyclist and his pillion rider on a black XR motorbike along the Eastern Highway, who eventually escaped capture by the police
According to the Guyana Police Force, a mobile patrol on duty along the Eastern Highway observed the black XR motorcycle being ridden by a male and carrying a male pillion rider, but it did not have a license plate.
This caused the cops to give chase in an attempt to stop the duo and in the process, an object fell from the pillion rider and landed on the Western side of the road.
“The ranks immediately stopped where the object fell and the suspects made good their escape east into Plum Park, Sophia. The object was discovered to be a .32 pistol – make and serial number not seen – containing one live .32 ammunition. The firearm and ammunition were lodged.”
An investigation is in progress.
