GUYANA AND CARICOM CONCERNED OVER U.S. SANCTIONS ON CUBAN MEDICAL BRIGADES

The Guyana Government and CARICOM have raised concerns regarding the potential repercussions of US visa sanctions on countries participating in Cuba’s Overseas Medical Missions. In response to these developments, General Secretary of the Peoples’ Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C), Bharrat Jagdeo, stressed the importance of regional unity and called for joint dialogue with the United States to address the concerns surrounding these sanctions.

Jagdeo emphasized the potential negative impact on countries that rely on these missions for healthcare support and underscored the need for constructive discussions to safeguard the interests of regional healthcare systems.
