GUYANA’S PROJECTED ECONOMIC GROWTH OF 37.2% IN 2023 SHOWS THE GOVERNMENT’S FAILURE TO ADDRESS POVERTY, SAYS LOWE

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that Guyana will achieve an economic growth rate of 32.7% by the end of this year, which is a positive development. However, economist Elson Lowe believes that the figures highlight the government’s failure to alleviate poverty, especially given the thriving oil and gas sector.
