HAIRDRESSER NABBED WITH 520 GRAMM​S OF GANJA REMANDED

A hairdresser was on Monday morning remanded to prison for having in her possession more than 500 grams of cannabis. She reportedly confessed to the police. Here are the details with Javone Vickerie.

43-year-old Odessa Dublin will spend the new year in prison after she was remanded by Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates Court on a narcotics trafficking charge. It is alleged that on December 29 in Regent Street, she had in possession 520 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. Dublin denied the allegation. Police Prosecutor Sanja Singh, in presenting the case to the court, explained that on the day of the incident, police ranks acting on intelligence visited the home of Dublin. The prosecution further stated that rank immediately conducted a search and unearthed a black plastic bag which concealed parcels of several zip lock bags with leaves and stems suspecting to be cannabis. The police prosecutor further revealed that ranks allege that the woman was shown the articles and she reportedly admitted ownership. Following the discovery, police say she was arrested, charged and arraigned. Dublin will make her next court appearance on January 21, 2019.
