The Ministry of Health has launched an official investigation into a suspected Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) outbreak in Region Four following reports of several students developing symptoms associated with the disease.
More than a week ago, HGPTV Nightly News reported that students from a private school on the East Coast of Demerara had shown rash-like symptoms on their hands, feet, and mouths, raising concerns about potential spread.
Health officials are now working to assess the situation, contain any possible transmission, and implement necessary public health measures.
