The businessman, Dannyram Kissoon was at the time returning home after conducting business a commercial bank on the East Coast of Demerara. Kissoon reportedly had just withdrawn $450,000. Kissoon’s daughter, who witnessed the ordeal and requested her identity be withheld, explained that she was in the living room when she heard gunshots.

The daughter noted that after shooting at her father and the doctor, the two men entered their vehicle and escaped. Eyewitnesses say that the men drove further down Crown Dam before disappearing into Cummings Lodge.
