During a press conference on Thursday afternoon, General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, addressed allegations of corruption made against his party during the 2023 Local Government Elections. Dr. Jagdeo denied the accusations and deflected any responsibility, stating that the allegations were unfounded and politically motivated.
He emphasized that the PPP remains committed to transparency and accountability and urged the public not to be swayed by what he described as baseless attacks. Dr. Jagdeo also called for a fair and impartial investigation, expressing confidence that the truth will prevail.
