JEWELLER ROBBED OF GOLD AT MON REPOS, ECD MARKER

A 46-year-old jeweller was robbed of a quantity of gold jewellery at Mon Repos Market, East Coast Demerara by three males around 09:40hrs on Monday.

Police are reporting an alleged simple larceny committed on the victim, who is a stallholder at the said market. It is reported that the three perpetrators went to the opened stall and broke the showcase and began removing jewellery. The man who was alone at the time raised an alarm and one of the perpetrators whipped out a handgun and discharged a round in his direction. He was, however, not harmed. This caused the employee to run for cover and the perpetrators then made good their escape out of the market.

Police are currently searching for the perpetrators, as the investigations continue.
