After being dethroned of his crown last year, Jumo ‘Rubber Waist’ Primo has proved that he is force to reckoned with after his performance over the weekend at the Mashramani Soca Monarch competition. In 2022, Jumo has been crowned the Mashramani Soca Monarch with the song called Living My Life.
In the 2021 competition, he had placed fourth after winning the title for several years. Not allowing that to deter him, Primo entered this competition with one goal- to win.
And that he did.
With the song, “Living My Life”, Jumo got 259 points which secured him his soca monarch crown.
2nd Place, with 252 points went to Granny Ivy while 2021’s winner Samuel Medas came in at 3rd Place with 245 points.
The competition saw a total of 14 artistes vying for the crown. It was held at the National Stadium Providence infront of a live audience.
