Police are investigating an alleged robbery under arms committed on a 31-year-old labourer of Kingston Village, Corentyne Berbice Tuesday at around 23:50hrs at Kingston Village, Corentyne Berbice
The man claimed that while walking through a cross street heading to a nearby shop, he was confronted by two individuals who wore masks. He said that he recognized one who was armed with a cutlass.
As he passed them he received a lash to the back of his head with the cutlass and they began searching his waist and pockets causing him to throw the money onto the ground.
The man was relieved of $1,700
Police reports state that as the perpetrators turned to collect the money the Labourer seized the opportunity and made good his escape.
One of the suspects was arrested and is presently in custody assisting with the investigation.
