Labourer charged for robbing Man at Plaisance Market, Placed on $300,000 bail

For the armed robbery committed on a man at the Plaisance Market on the East Coast of Demerara in July, Raphael Hintzen, a 30-year-old labourer of La Penitence, Georgetown was arrested and charged on Monday.

He was slapped with the offence Robbery Under Arms contrary to Section 222 (C) of the Criminal Law Offence Act Chapter 8:01 charge.

The armed robbery accused reportedly robbed Deodat Dhansam, of West Coast Demerara. It occurred on Sunday 17th July, 2022 at Plaisance Market, East Coast Demerara.

The accused appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate court today before Her Worship Ms. Liverpool where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was placed on $300,000 bail.

The matter is adjourned to 7th October, 2022.
