For the murder of 86-year-old pensioner- Agnes Dillon, twenty-six-year-old Neman ‘Booyee’ Persaud a labourer of Mon Repos North, East Coast Demerara was on Thursday charged for murder.
Persaud appeared before Magistrate at Rushelle Liverpool at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead to the indictacle charge.
The matter was adjourned until 2022/09/12.
The accused
Persaud reportedly admitted to heinously killing the elderly woman over money owed for weeding her yard.
According to Police Headquarters, Dillion was discovered on June 30, 2022, in a pool of blood in her home. Her body bore stab wounds to her left and right upper chest, while she had chop wounds to her right hand and right side face.
Police believe the woman, who lived alone in the lower flat of a rented two-storey wooden house; was murdered between 17:30hrs on June 29 and midday on June 30.
